Introducing the New Loog Guitar Events

We’ve been keeping busy this year in our own hometown with a crazy idea we had: Loog Guitar events. Or, in other words, why not offer concerts for kids and then show them how to rock out once the gig is over? Luckily, we found many similar-minded people who thought our idea wasn’t that crazy and let us test it out.

And boy was it fun! Kids were not only enjoying rock shows made for them, but also sticking around to learn to build and play the Loog Guitar. The more extroverted bunch even dared to hop on stage and try the Loog out! Others prefered one-on-one sessions at the end of the show, helped by band members and music teachers. Read more

Loog Guitars Best in Show at Summer NAMM 2016

Yup folks, the rumors are true! Our last leg of our never-ending musical tour called life led us back to Nashville for the 2016 Summer NAMM – and we came back Best in Show in the “Gotta Stock It” category!

Ever since we won the Best Tools for Schools award at the 2013 NAMM Show, we’ve been coveting the Best in Show prize – and 2016 was the year we finally made it. We had the privilege of sharing a stand with Hal Leonard, our exclusive US distributor, who was more than cool that we advertise our new distinction. They were also really cool with us jumping and down with joyful abandon, which was also greatly appreciated 😉 Read more

Whew! Last weekend was CRAZY! First off, it was a different NAMM Show for us, not having our own booth and all. Still, this wasn’t a downgrade by any means: partnering with Hal Leonard meant that we were at the largest, best located booth in all of NAMM 2016 – and it showed.

We met SO many old and new friends, and loved the excitement we saw toward our new app and booklet (which even has songs from the Hal Leonard collection to play!). And, as usual, we also had our fan boy moments: me got to meet Dare Jones (Jack White’s drummer), Darryl Jones (Rolling Stones’ bass player), Doug Wimbish, Don Was (!!!), Bakithi Kumalo, Jimmy Vivino, Labamba and even the talented Paul Frank. And no, we refuse to apologize for the annoying selfies we took with every single one of them 😉 Read more

Loog NYC Tour Roundup

Loog NYC Tour

This December we had our first ever Loog NYC Tour, where Loog founder Rafael Atijas hit the road to visit some of New York’s nicest stores. Tim Kubart, awesome kids’ artist and music instructor whom you might recognize from our #LoogAcademy videos, also came along for the ride.

Loog Guitars at Summer NAMM 2015

Our second Summer NAMM was over way before we were ready for it to end – and boy was it amazing. Nashville’s Summer NAMM is supposed to be a smaller version of the Anaheim NAMM Show but well, you know how it usually goes for us: small is sometimes better 😉

We had a great time this year at the show and, we know we keep saying this, but we feel it was our best trade show experience so far: we closed some nice deals that will help us get Loog Guitars into more stores, more cities and more countries. We also met new friends, including some from Nashville’s songwriter scene who dropped by our booth to play for a while and left loving how the 3-string approach was making them rediscover guitar playing and songwriting. Loog Guitars at Musikmesse 2015

We finally made it into Europe, you guys! We’ve been eyeing our European Kickstarter backers with subtle envy these past few years and knew we had to cross the Atlantic eventually – and this year’s musikmesse couldn’t have come at a better time.

Musikmesse, for those of you who aren’t really familiar with the international music show scene (as we were before we jumped into this bandwagon) is probably Europe’s most important show. Every single year we lived it through pictures and comments from all the amazing people we meet at other shows year-round. But this time – this time we hopped on a plane to Frankfurt and flew over there to live it ourselves. And boy was it worth it!

Everyone was super nice and everything was super awesome at musikmesse 2015 – including the food (beer counts as food, right?). We made tons of new friends that will hopefully help us get our guitars into many different countries (not only in Europe!) within the next few months. And, to top it all, we fell in love with our guitars all over again as we watched so many people (seriously, so many) try them out in our little impromptu playing corner we built in our stand.

So thanks to everyone who dropped by and lived this incredible experience with us from their computer and mobile screens! You made this an awesome first muskimesse for all of us. And stay tuned for more amazing Loog news soon…
