Phew! We’re having such a great time chatting back and forth with you guys about our new #LoogAcademy app and the improved song book (shipping with the Loog starting in April!) that we almost forgot to tell you about the great time we had at the New York Toy Fair this year. Well, here it goes 😉

Booth #5719 was BURSTING with people and we’re not even kidding – many of those who dropped by hadn’t even heard about the Loog and were actually surprised by the guitars’ quality. But, most of all, people were so excited about getting to play a song on day one! We actually took some to the test, powered with the new song book and #LoogAcademy app – and boy did we get to witness some really giddy adults on their way out.

By far, the drummer monkey on the app stole the show – that is, until we heard about Tim Kubart’s awesome Grammy win. Suddenly, kids everywhere were learning to play guitar guided by a Grammy-winning artist (and amazing guy, by the way – never has a Grammy been this well-deserved) – even in our Toy Fair booth! We must have gotten seriously excited because we got told to lower our amp volume once or twice – ah, the sweet, sweet sounds of neighbors knocking. Kind of made us go way back!

Who you gonna call?!

We were also floored with orders, reporters and made tons of new industry friends – so stay tuned for new distributors in your area! And if you still haven’t given our #LoogAcademy app a spin, here’s the link to download it from the App Store. We’re dying to know what you think!

Whew! Last weekend was CRAZY! First off, it was a different NAMM Show for us, not having our own booth and all. Still, this wasn’t a downgrade by any means: partnering with Hal Leonard meant that we were at the largest, best located booth in all of NAMM 2016 – and it showed.

We met SO many old and new friends, and loved the excitement we saw toward our new app and booklet (which even has songs from the Hal Leonard collection to play!). And, as usual, we also had our fan boy moments: me got to meet Dare Jones (Jack White’s drummer), Darryl Jones (Rolling Stones’ bass player), Doug Wimbish, Don Was (!!!), Bakithi Kumalo, Jimmy Vivino, Labamba and even the talented Paul Frank. And no, we refuse to apologize for the annoying selfies we took with every single one of them 😉

Getting to know the folks at Hal Leonard was also super cool, as well as everyone who asked to try out the Loog and jam with us. All in all, a GREAT start for 2016 – so stay tuned for more news, more pics, more videos, more awesome stuff and, of course, our brand new Loog Academy app!
